Guest Appearance on Pseudopod - Rich

By Patrick SamphireRead by Rich Sigfrit

“Josh.” His voice was hoarse, like he’d been shouting.

“How are you doing, Dad?” I tried to stop my voice shaking. I didn’t want to seem like a kid.

“Been better, been worse.” He worked his lips, as though his mouth was dry. “See, the old devil’s put his hand into my chest, lad. Left a bit of a gift for me.”

He coughed. His thin chest shuddered. He turned and spat into a metal bowl by his bed. The spit was thick and threaded with blood. He gave me a painful grin.

I met these cats at DragonCon this last year, and was honored to record an ep for them.  I had an absolute blast, and hope to do more in the future.  Check out this ep, and the rest of their shows.

Guest Appearance on Voices of Tomorrow

For those of you that remember, I recorded a story written by the incomperable Jared Axelrod, for The Voice of Free Planet X. Turns out, they did a few tweaks to it, and also released it on Voices of Tomorrow, the sister podcast to the site 365 Tomorrows, where it was first published. I can’t tell you all how proud I am of my reading of this story. I hope Jared writes more adventures of Captain Shakespeare

Guest Appearance on Escape Pod - rated R

By Jeffrey R. DeRego.
Read by Rich Sigfrit (of Requiem of the Outcast and Amazing Pulp Adventures).

“Which one are you?”

The kid fans out a small stack of super hero trading cards, but it’s not a Union deck. Figures. “Lemme see what you got there.” I flip through and remember my old baseball card collection. I knew there was something special about me, when at nine-years-old, I accurately calculated the probable batting stats of each player, on every team, in the 1996 season after opening only one pack. The Union recruited me five years later after my dad beat a couple of Atlantic City casinos for ten million bucks. I was caught on security camera tape telling him when and how to bet at the roulette wheel.

“These don’t look like you.”

The card displays a blue-costumed man leaping between buildings. I hand it back to him. “Those guys aren’t real, but I am.” Wow. Did I just say that? Maybe I’ll tell the kid that Santa and the Easter Bunny aren’t real either. He’s staring at me now, I can almost see his little brain struggling to make sense of my answer. I should tell him to buy Union Cards but, you know, he’s five.

Rated R. Contains profanity, some violence involving children, and retail corporate exploitation.

EP049: Off White Lies

Guest Appearance on Voice of Free Planet X

Hey guys. Jared Axelrod is a good guy. He’s so cool, that when you meet him, you think, “Damn, that’s a cool guy.” I’m serious. I have first hand experience with that feeling. Not only is he cool, but he does cool things. He’s a hell of a writer, patient enough to show me how to play Hero Clix, and has helped me many times with bits for shows and whatnot. But now, it was my turn. As I am a huge fan of my own voice (hell, you guys know that), I was stoked when he offered me a chance to read a story on his show, the Voice of Free Planet X. I think I did a pretty good job, and I hope you’ll enjoy listening half as much as I did recording it.

And don’t forget to visit Jared at his site and make a comment on either this episode if you liked it, or any of his other episodes. He has a years worth, you know.
