The answer for this episode trivia is:

Akira Kurosawa’s “The Hidden Fortress”

the answer to the latest question? what japanese film was an influence for George Lucas is Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai!

The nerdy answer is (just in case from Wikipedia) ;-) : George Lucas acknowledges that the plot and characters in the 1958 Japanese film The Hidden Fortress were a major inspiration. Lucas has said in an interview, which is included on the DVD edition of that film that it influenced him to tell the story of Star Wars from the viewpoint of the humble droids, rather than from the viewpoint of a major player. It also played a role in the conception of Darth Vader, whose trademark black helmet intentionally resembles the black kabuto of the arch-villain in Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai.

I was just sitting here and thought I might point out that Dean was right. kids get beat up for talking about star wars. I am a clone fan and have a giant field of info about clones thanks to karen traviss and clonetroopers.net. But I only talk about it with good friends. I DONT talk about it because i’ll look like the nerd I am.

Great show guys, as always.

About the Fanboys poll on the official site, you actually need to register to vote. Yes, you can vote multiple times, but I’m pretty sure only one vote counts per account. So the poll results were pretty accurate.

Pfft. I’m a dork, and I wear it like a badge of honor. My jacket has the 501st patches, my keychains are lego troopers, and even my hard hat has the Imperial insignia on it, along with my car having the decals.

I wear it proudly, and when someone tries to give me crap about being a “nerd”, I ask them how much money they’ve raised for charity, how many sick children they’ve made smile, and how much they’ve changed the lives of people they don’t know for the better.

That usually shuts them up.

And when that doesn’t, an E-11 butt to the mouth does the trick as well.

But then, that’s me… You’re lovable, cuddly Sandtrooper.

In this Episode you had the Top 10 Signs You’re Too Involved in the 501st Legion list and one of the signs, having an Imperial Cog tattoo I can identify with because I have one. In fact, I went one step further. I got my favorite character, Lord Vader himself, tattooed on my arm. It also has some wind and flames swirling around him. Total time to complete the tattoo was 10 hours done in 5 sittings. If you are interested here is a link to a couple of photos of it.
